Paul Craig Roberts, sem var eitt sinn háttsettur maður í stjórn Ronalds Regans, heldur því fram að það sé í gangi samsæri um að fella Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Þetta sé vegna þess að hann reki stefnu hjá AGS sem sé ekki þóknanleg bandaríska bankaauðvaldinu auk þess  sem hann ógni Nicolas Sarkozy sem Roberts segir að sé strengjabrúða Bandaríkjanna.
