Kosningauppátæki Vigdísar Hauksdóttur, oddvita Miðflokksins í Reykjavík, er orðið að alþjóðlegu æði. Fólk um allan heim er nú að planta blómum í holur í götum í borgum og birta af því myndir á samfélagsmiðlum. Ekki liggur fyrir hvort æðið nú í vor sé sjálfsprottið eða hvort það eigi rætur sínar hjá Vigdísi. Við fyrstu sín finnast þó engar svona færslur frá því í ár eldri en færsla Vigdísar frá því í mars síðastliðnum þegar hún tók sig til og nýtti sérþekkingu sína á blómaskreytingum til að fylla upp í holu í Reykjavík með blómum.
Það skal þó tekið fram að dæmi eru um að fólk hafi gert þetta áður.
Dæmi eru um að íbúar í Brussel í Belgíu og Toronto í Kanada sem og víða annarsstaðar hafi tekið sig til og plantað blómum í holur.
