Ég fékk átakanlegt tölvubréf í dag frá íslenskri konu, Gulaugu Petursdottur. Hún vinnur fórnfúst starf í Suður Afríku, Nígeríu og Ghana og berst gegn menntunarskorti, fátækt, alnæmi og kynþáttahatri. Greinilega góð manneskja. Hún var svo óheppin að gleyma veskinu sínu með m.a. vegabréfi, farseðlum og peningum og kemst hvorki lönd né strönd. Hún hefur reyndar týnt íslenskunni líka en það gæti verið vegna áfallsins, ja, eða lyklaborðsins. Gulaug sendi mér bréfið frá Lagos og hafði bara 30 mínútur til að borga hótelreikninginn, kaupa mat og flugfarseðil heim.
Hún lofar að borga mér til baka ef ég lána henni. Þetta eru ekki nema 2.800 dollarar, eða 418.000 krónur. Held að sú manneskja hljóti að vera hjartalaus sem ekki hjálpar Gulaugu.

Hi,

I hope this message finds you in best of health,i am curently out of
town and i am sorry i didn't inform you about my traveling to Africa
for a program called Empowering Youth to Fight Racism, HIV/AIDS,
Poverty and Lack of Education,the program is taking place in three
major countries in Africa which are Ghana,South Africa and Nigeria. It
as been a very sad and bad moment for me, the present condition that I
found myself is very hard for me to explain.I am really stranded in
Nigeria because I forgot my little bag in the Taxi where my money
,flight ticket,passport, and other valuable document were kept on my
way back to the Hotel am staying,I am facing a hard time here because I
have no money on me. I am now owning a hotel bill of $1,600 and they
wanted me to pay the bill soon else they will have to seize my bags,and
hand me over to the Hotel Management.I need you to help me with the
hotel bill and will also need $1,200 to feed and book my flight ticket
back home so please can you help me with the sum of $2,800 to sort out
my problems here? I need this help so much and on time because i am in
a terrible and tight situation here,I don't even have money to feed
myself for a day which means i had been starving, please understand how
urgent i needed your help and i will appreciate your favour.
